At the core of the performance of Bring On The Lumière! is the duet between Christine Bonansea and Marina Fukushima who play the Lumiere Brothers. In addition to this duet, a key moment of the performance is an epic live re-enactment of “Workers Leaving The Factory” — an influential 52-second film created by the Lumière Brothers in 1895. As the film itself depicts masses of workers leaving the workplace, performers of varied ages and backgrounds come together to perform a score based on this film. In each city that Bring On The Lumière! is remounted, Catherine Galasso brings together performers from the local community to bring life to this ground-breaking moment in history.

As Bring On The Lumière! continues to tour in 2013, there will be opportunities to become involved in this scene in designated cities. Extensive dance or theater training is not necessary to participate; movement is pedestrian. Performers are invited to attend one rehearsal and one dress rehearsal, in addition to the final performances.
