CALL FOR PERFORMERS

FOR LIVE SILENT FILM RE-ENACTMENT

Kiplinger Theater, Cornell University
Ithaca, NY

February 10   2012

.
Catherine Galasso seeks performers for a unique opportunity to participate in her upcoming piece Bring On The Lumière! on February 10, 2012 at Cornell University’s Kiplinger Theater.

A live re-enactment of “Workers Leaving The Factory” — a famous 52-second film created by the Lumière Brothers in 1895 — will be the grand finale of “Bring On The Lumière!” Performers are invited to attend one rehearsal on Monday, Feb. 6 from 6-10 p.m., and one dress rehearsal Thursday, Feb. 9 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. The performance will be at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 10.
Extensive dance or theatre training is not necessary to participate; movement is pedestrian. As the film itself depicts masses of workers leaving the workplace, performers of varied ages and backgrounds are invited to participate in this live recreation. The film can be viewed here:
