7.03.10 – In this video Catherine and Christine Bonansea brainstorm ideas during a residency at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach Florida. We happened upon this awesome situation: Christine interacting with her own shadow. I recorded Christine’s shadow from behind the screen while she improvised. Then we projected the recording, and she improvised in response to the shadow, which was back-projected. No animation or special effects here! The size of the shadow was manipulated by my movement of the camera. We made this in about 20 minutes.
